If you are thinking about joining ALK-VA please pay attention to following.
ALK-VA receives applications from three types of pilots.
Type 1- Who are very keen to do maximum flying and discuss their ideas with others. We always welcome them.
Type 2- Will complete minimum flying requirement. That is acceptable since real life things should get the priority.
Type 3- Just want to see their names in the Pilot Roster. They waste their time, as well as ours.
ALK-VA Flying Team is short. Because we regularly remove non-active pilots (but you can always ask for leave without getting removed). We do not advertise on other fancy things. But offer maximum possible realistic flying experience to our valuable pilots. This is not limited to Sri Lankan aircraft, but for ex Air Lanka and Air Ceylon aircraft also. You have three generations of aircraft to choose from.
To understand ALK-VA operations please go through ALK-VA Policy Manual, Operations Manual and Q & A guide. [You may think there are too many parameters to remember. But when you are familiar with the requirements, you will know that you are next to the real thing. And ALK-VA staff is always ready help you with your queries.]
If you are satisfied with ALK-VA operations procedure, submit your enlistment application. If you have problems with the form, promptly E-mail to the ALK-VA and include the required information.

This thing we call luck is merely professionalism and attention to detail, it's your awareness of everything that is going on around you, it's how well you know and understand your airplane and your own limitations. Luck is the sum total of your of abilities as an aviator. If you think your luck is running low, you'd better get busy and make some more. Work harder, pay more attention. Study your NATOPS more. Do better preflights.
